OMAHA--The Missions completed their sixth series sweep of the season and second against Omaha this season with a 10-6 win Sunday afternoon at Werner Park. The game was called due to rain with one out in the bottom of the ninth.
San Antonio wrapped up its head-to-head against the Storm Chasers by winning the final seven games in the series by a combined score of 66-31. The Missions scored exactly 10 runs in all three games of their weekend series, making it the first time since the final three contests of the 2011 campaign that a San Antonio club scored 10 or more runs in three straight games.
Nate Orf tied a career high by driving in four runs while David Freitas notched three hits for the second straight game. Hernán Pérez doubled in the seventh inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. The Missions collected 12 hits and drew eight walks.
Jimmy Nelson made his second relief appearance as part of his major league rehab assignment. The right-hander gave up four two-out runs in the seventh inning to squander what had been a 6-2 lead.
San Antonio came back to tally three runs in the eighth and added an insurance run in the ninth inning.
Danny Coulombe (1-0) picked up the win in relief.
Monday is a league-wide off day. The Missions kick off a seven game homestand on Tuesday night when they face Sacramento (Giants) for the first time this year.
