MOOSIC, PA (April 17) -The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders topped the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 5-4 on Wednesday night. T.J. Rumfield had a three-hit night, while Jordan Groshans had the game-winning home run.

The in-state rivals battled back and forth early and often.Lehigh Valley got on the board in the first inning. Jordan Luplow batted in Kody Clemens, who led off the contest with a triple.

The RailRiders tied it up immediately. Caleb Durbin worked a walk and raced home on an RBI double from T.J. Rumfield.

SWB took the lead in the third with the same duo. Again Durbin walked, but this time stole second to move into scoring position. Rumfield singled him home for a 2-1 lead.

The IronPigs made it 2-2 when Luplow scored on a ground ball in the fourth.

Scott Kingery launched a 413-foot homer the following frame for a visitors lead.

But once again the RailRiders were there right after. This time a sacrifice fly from Josh VanMeter tied it up at three apiece.

In the eighth inning, Clemens doubled to reach and Luplow batted him in to retake control 4-3.

SWB powered their way to a win in the bottom half. Carlos Narvaez poked a single the opposite way for his first hit of the game. Then, Jordan Groshans smacked his first home run of the season for a 5-4 victory.

Yankees #18 prospect Yoendrys Gómez pitched three innings of two-run ball. Jake Cousins (W, 1-0) allowed a run in his inning and a third of work. Duane Underwood Jr. (S, 2) slammed the door shut in the ninth.

The RailRiders will continue their series at PNC Field taking on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. The next contest is on Thursday, April 18 with the first pitch at 6:35PM. Tickets and more information are available online at www.swbrailriders.com.
