Join the Pros as they host a series of training camps at PNC Field - the home of your Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders!

Our participants have the chance to use our premium facilities while improving all areas of their game and getting tips from the players who have learned the best techniques. Plus the chance to use our Hittrax program in the Toyota Power Zone with expert guidance. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches and players from across the region.

RailRiders University offers multiple camps each year and sessions are tailored to different positions on the diamond.

All sessions are available for both baseball and softball for ages 6-14.

Meet Our Trainers

Zalewski has been the Abington Heights High School varsity baseball coach for 13 years - State Champions in 2009 and winner of multiple district titles. He played at baseball at Kings College.

Jardine has coached for North Pocono for 14 years and has compiled over 100 wins, including a run to the state semifinals. A graduate of Moravian College, he still holds a number of school records as a shortstop.

Higgins has been the head baseball coach at Scranton High for 13 years. He's coached Scranton to five championship game appearances and multiple district titles. He was named the 2010 Times Tribune Coach of the Year. During his career, he coached both Joe and Jake McCarthy.

Kropa is currently the head coach of the Mid Valley varsity baseball team. He previously played four years of baseball at King's College.

As the head coach at Riverside High School, Hughes has led his team to the 2021 and 2022 Lackawanna League Championships, the 2021 district championship and the 2021 PA state semi-finals. He was previously the Lackawanna College pitching coach from 2011-2014.

Ross was a Scranton Central softball All-Star and a starter at the University of Scranton. With over 30 years of coaching experience, she currently coaches the Junior Varsity team at Dunmore High School.

Ross starred at Dunmore High School before playing collegiately at Concordia. She is currently an assistant coach at Mid Valley High School.

Bradley played at Holy Cross High School and was the 2019 PA State Player of the Year. She currently pitches for the UMass softball team.

Peters is the head baseball coach at Lackawanna Trail High School. He played locally at Lackawanna College as well as Jacksonville University.

McCarthy was a fifth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Rays out of the University of Virginia in 2015. After several seasons in the Rays organization, including time with the 2017 Triple-A National Champion Durham Bulls, he was traded to San Francisco in July 2019. McCarthy appeared in 474 games in the Minors over six seasons and made his Major League debut for the Giants in 2020.

McCarthy played for Sacramento in Triple-A West in 2021 and spent the 2022 season with the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan.
