BELOIT, Wisc- Right-handed pitcher James Naile won the prestigious Rawlings Gold Glove for pitchers as Minor League baseball and Rawlings Sporting Goods Company announced the nine Gold Glove winners on Monday.
Naile posted a perfect fielding percentage in 48 chances in 2016. In 156 2/3 innings Naile recorded 18 put outs, 30 assists and one double play. Naile appeared in 15 games including 14 starts as a Snapper in 2016. Naile worked 88 frames, going 3-8 during his time in Beloit. He recorded 13 put outs and 16 assists as a Snapper. He also pitched for the Stockton Ports, Midland Rockhounds, and Nashville Sounds in the 2016 season.
Naile was drafted in the 20th round of the 2015 MLB June amateur draft by the Oakland Athletics. He played college ball at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
