The Snappers and Chiefs set a Midwest League-record with 20 extra-base hits in a wild series finale at Pohlman Field that saw Peoria take the contest 13-10 and the season series against Beloit 9-8. Chiefs infielder Stefan Trosclair hit for the cycle in reverse order with a fourth inning home run, a triple and double in the eighth, and completed the feat with a single in ninth inning.
Beloit led the game 3-2 entering the eighth inning before the Chiefs erupted for 10 runs. Peoria had 12 hits in that inning along and six extra-base knocks as they scored eight runs before an out was recorded. The Snappers answered with five of their own in the bottom half of the eight with a pair of home runs, a three-run blast by Edwin Diaz and a two-run shot from J.C. Rodriguez.
Five of Peoria's seven hits off Beloit starter Kyle Twomey went for extra bases, but the only run he allowed was a solo homer to Stefan Trosclair. The Chiefs clubbed doubles in each of the first four innings before Twomey retired the side in the fifth.
The Snappers leading home run hitters each went deep on Friday night. Miguel Mercedes made it back-to-back nights with a home run on a two-run shot to center in the second inning to start the scoring. Mercedes became the third Snapper to reach 50 RBI this season, joining Luke Persico and Kyle Nowlin. Collin Theroux unloaded on his 12th homer of the season over the left field wall in the fifth.
Diaz ended the game for Beloit 3-for-5 with 4 RBI, and Mercedes was also 3-for-5 with 3 RBI. Four Beloit batters had multiple hits as seven Peoria players had multiple hits. Both squads combined for 36 hits.
