Tilson, Ohlman and Reyes named Postseason All-Stars

Springfield, MO - The Texas League has announced that Springfield Cardinals CF Charlie Tilson, C Michael Ohlman and RHP Arturo Reyes have been named to the 2015 Texas League Postseason All-Star Team. The exclusive Postseason All-Star Team is made up of the league's top players from both divisions, consisting of only 10 spots for position players and nine for pitchers. All three of the Cardinals Postseason All-Stars were also 2015 Texas League Midseason All-Stars.

Tilson, 22, has had one of the best overall offensive seasons of any player in the league this year, hitting .293 with four home runs, 15 doubles, five triples and 31 RBIs through 122 games. Tilson currently leads the league with 43 stolen bases, is tied for 2nd with 143 hits, tied for 3rd with 77 runs, 9th with a .293 batting average and 4th with 8.34 plate appearances per strikeout.

With his career-high 43 swipes, the Wilmette, Illinois native has set the Springfield all-time record for most single season steals and most career steals (53). Currently on an 11-game hitting streak, Tilson previously tied the Springfield record with an 18-game hitting streak from 7/8 - 7/26. Ranked by MLB.com as the Cardinals #8 prospect, Tilson was selected by St. Louis in the 2nd round of the 2011 June Draft out of New Trier High School in Illinois.

Ohlman, 24, has had an excellent first season in Springfield, compiling a .281 average with 11 home runs and a team-best 62 RBIs through 92 games. The backstop has put together the best full offensive season of any catcher in the Texas League. Ohlman caught fire in June with a .338 average (22x65), five home runs and 18 RBIs through 19 games, before hitting .313 (26x83) with four homers and 18 RBIs in 22 games in July.

The Bradenton, Florida native was the first Cardinal this season to match the Springfield all-time mark for longest hitting streak, rattling off an 18-game streak from 5/26 - 6/22. A member of St. Louis's 40-Man Roster, Ohlman is ranked by MLB.com as the Cardinals #29 prospect. The first-year Cardinal was originally selected in the 11th round of the 2009 June Draft by Baltimore and was acquired by St. Louis from the Orioles on February 3, 2015.

Reyes, 23, currently with the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A), took the Texas League by storm after being promoted from High-A Palm Beach on 5/1, going 7-7 with a 2.64 ERA through 17 starts with Springfield. The right-hander tallied 80 strikeouts with only 28 walks through 99.0 innings in Double-A and ranked 2nd in the league in ERA at the time of his promotion to Memphis.

The Warden, Washington native was named the Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June, posting a 4-0 record with a 1.84 ERA through five starts that month, allowing just six earned runs on 22 hits and five walks while striking out 25. In the midst of the dominant month, Reyes was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week for June 8 - 14, tossing a pair of scoreless starts during the week and carrying a no-hitter into the 7th inning on 6/14 in Tulsa. Reyes was selected by St. Louis in the 40th round of the 2013 June Draft out of Gonzaga University.

The Texas League also announced that Midland RockHounds SS Chad Pinder has been named the Player of the Year, Arkansas Travelers RHP Nate Smith has won the Pitcher of the Year, Corpus Christi Hooks Manager Rodney Linares is Manager of the Year and San Antonio Missions Pitching Coach Jimmy Jones has been named the Mike Coolbaugh Texas League Coach of the Year.
