RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Ca. - Danny Bautista and Cooper Uhl each drove in two runs and the Ports bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to beat the Quakes 7-3 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at LoanMart Field in Rancho Cucamonga.

The Ports (9-15) jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. With Joshwan Wright on second base and two outs, Danny Bautista grounded a single to left field to score Wright and give the Ports a 1-0 lead.

With the score tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, Stockton struck for two more to take the lead for good. T.J. Schofield-Sam singled with one out, and after a groundout Cooper Uhl hit his first career home run, a two-run shot with two outs to put the Ports up 3-1.

Stockton added another two-run inning in the 7th off the Quakes bullpen when Sahid Valenzuela scored on a passed ball and Bautista lined a two out single to center field to drive Wright home and give the Ports a four-run lead.

After the Quakes (12-11) scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to cut the Stockton lead in half, the Ports put the ballgame away in the top of the ninth with two more runs. Lawrence Butler and Junior Perez got the frame started with back-to-back singles, and Bautista moved the runners up to second and third with a sacrifice bunt. Rancho Cucamonga then walked Kevin Richards intentionally to load the bases with one out, but Quakes reliever Nelfri Contreras uncorked a wild pitch to score Butler, and Schofield-Sam hit a sacrifice fly to left to bring Perez home and give the Ports a good 7-3 lead.

Jose Mora fired a 1-2-3 ninth to seal the win for the Ports.

Jose Dicochea (1-1) got the win for Stockton, giving up two runs (both earned) in 2.2 hitless innings in relief of starter Kumar Nambiar who allowed just one run on two hits in 4 1/3 innings. Mora recorded the final six outs for his second save of the season.

Quakes starter Hyun-Il Choi (1-2) took the loss, giving up three runs (all earned) on six hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The Ports will return home for the start of a 12-game homestand beginning with a six-game series against the Lake Elsinore Storm on Tuesday at 7:05pm. All games can be heard live on Fox Sports AM 1280 or on the iHeart Radio app.
