(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.)Jose Altuve began a Major League Rehab Assignment on Friday night and went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles for the Sugar Land Space Cowboys in a 3-2 loss to the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Altuve, who started at second base and hit second in the lineup, hit singles on the first two pitches he saw on the evening. The Houston Astros’ seven-time All-Star has been on the 10-Day Injured List since April 19 with a left hamstring strain. Altuve is the first Astros player to appear in a rehab assignment with the Space Cowboys this season.

Alex De Goti got the Space Cowboys on the board with his first home run of the year – a solo shot in the fifth inning that hooked around the left-field foul pole. Korey Lee made it a one-run game in the sixth inning with an RBI double down the left-field line to score Franklin Barreto.

Oklahoma City jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third on a two-run homer from Jake Lamb. Zach McKinstry added a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.

Jon Olczak and Zac Rosscup teamed up to throw three scoreless innings to finish out the game, allowing just one hit.

The Space Cowboys and Dodgers meet again at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night, with JP France set to take the mound. Oklahoma City is scheduled to start Mike Wright Jr.
