Lance McCullers Jr. to Make Rehab Start Tuesday at Constellation Field

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) – Houston Astros right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. is scheduled to make the third start of his MLB Rehab Assignment with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys on Tuesday at Constellation Field as they host the Round Rock Express.

McCullers, who has been on the 60-Day Injured List since April 4 with a right forearm strain, made his second rehab appearance – and first with the Space Cowboys – on Wednesday in Oklahoma City. McCullers tossed 52 pitches across three innings, striking out four batters.

Gates for Tuesday’s 7:05 p.m. game will open at 5 p.m. The Space Cowboys encourage fans to arrive early.

This will be McCullers’ second rehab appearance in Sugar Land since it became the Triple A affiliate of the Astros. He tossed four innings, striking out four batters, on June 10, 2021, in a rehab start at Constellation Field.

McCullers – a 2017 American League All-Star – finished second in the AL last season with a 3.14 ERA and recorded a career-high 13 wins and 185 strikeouts.
