Fireworks, $2 beer & soda on tap for the weekend

Chiefs to face Bisons at NBT Bank Stadium in season's final games

Syracuse, NY-The Syracuse Chiefs will wrap up the 2013 season with a pair of games this weekend at NBT Bank Stadium against the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays affiliate).

Game one of the two-game series between the Chiefs and Bisons is scheduled for Sunday, September 1 at 6:30pm. A fantastic fireworks show presented by Saranac will follow the game, but there will be plenty of action before and during the game as well. Fans are invited to a pre-game All-You-Can-Eat Picnic that will take place from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Admission to the picnic is only $19 per person ($9 for children 5 & younger), which includes a Field Box or Reserved game ticket. 

Inside the stadium on Sunday, fans will be able to enjoy special "Thirsty Thursday" pricing of only $2 for 12 ounce draft beers and fountain sodas throughout the game. In addition, fans that purchase a hamburger, cheeseburger, or Chiefs dog at Syracuse Land & Cattle will receive free french fries with their order. The final Knot Hole Gang Night of the season is scheduled for Sunday as well. Children 12 and younger will receive a free Hofmann hot dog, a free drink from Coca-Cola, and a free Perry's ice cream by reporting to Guest Services on the concourse behind home plate. Membership in the Knot Hole Gang is free and parents can register their children at SyracuseChiefs.com or at Guest Services. 

Sunday is also College Night presented by The Orange, the newest and only sports bar on the SU hill. Current college students and employees can purchase Field Box or Reserved tickets for only $9 each by presenting a valid college ID at the Chiefs ticket office. Complimentary General Admission tickets for Sunday's game are available from select members of the Syracuse Builders Exchange that purchased a special ticket package for Syracuse Builders Exchange Night.

Gates will open at 5:30pm on Sunday and fans will want to be in their seats in time to see a helicopter from Mercy Flight Central land on the playing field at approximately 6:10pm. Fans holding General Admission tickets distributed by Mercy Flight Central, RBC Wealth Management, or Hobby Lobby for Mercy Flight Central Night presented RBC Wealth Management on Thursday, August 22 may use their tickets at Sunday's game.

The season will conclude on Monday, September 2, Labor Day, when the Chiefs and Bisons are scheduled to meet at 2:00pm. Fans will receive a complimentary General Admission ticket by presenting a program from their place of worship or a civic organization at the Chiefs ticket office thanks to The Promotion Formerly Known as Church Bulletin Night and then can enjoy food and drink specials once inside the ballpark.

There will be a Budweiser Happy Hour from the time the gates open at 1:00pm on Monday until game time featuring 12 ounce Budweiser and Bud Light drafts for only $3 each at the third base cold beer stand on the concourse. Families can also take advantage of the following Monday Family Fun Day specials, priced at only $10 each:

  • one family size basket of chicken tenders, one family size basket of french fries, and four medium fountain sodas at Syracuse Land & Cattle or Chicken Fry Fry
  • four regular hot dogs, one family size basket of french fries, and four medium fountain sodas at Syracuse Land & Cattle

In addition, children 12 & younger will be invited to run the bases on the field at the conclusion of Monday's game.

Fans can save up to $5 per ticket on Sunday and Monday by presenting a ticket stub from the New York State Fair at the Chiefs ticket office to purchase a Field Box or Reserved seat for only $9.

Tickets for both remaining home games as well as the recently announced Syracuse Chiefs Beer Fest scheduled for September 14 can be purchased in person at NBT Bank Stadium, by calling 315-474-7833, or online at SyracuseChiefs.com where fans can select their own seats and print their tickets at home.
