Tampa, FL. - Today, the Florida State League named Tampa Tarpons' RHP Jonathan Loaisiga "Pitcher of the Week." Tampa, FL. - Today, the Florida State League named Tampa Tarpons' RHP Jonathan Loaisiga "Pitcher of the Week." This honor was for games played April 5th-15th.
Loaisiga earned two wins over two starts against the Lakeland Flying Tigers (4/7) and the St. Lucie Mets (4/13). The 23-year-old combined to hold his opponents scoreless over 10 innings, yielding six (6) hits while tallying 10 strikeouts and not issuing a walk.
The New York Yankees signed Loaisiga as a minor league free agent on 2/9/16 and added him to the 40-man roster on 11/20/17. The 23-year-old was originally signed by the San Francisco Giants as a non-drafted free agent on 9/13/12 out of Managua, Nicaragua.
