Tampa Secures Their First Win at Home Against the Dunedin Blue Jays, 3-1

Rachel Balkovec made her first home game appearance as the Tarpons manager. Balkovec is the first full-time female manager in the history of affiliated baseball at the Major or Minor League levels.
The Tarpons piled it on against Dunedin’s starting right-hander Connor Cooke. The Tarpons accumulated a total of seven hits on Cooke throughout four innings. The Dunedin Blue Jays recovered after RHP Matt Svanson only allowed one hit.
Grant Richardson the starting left fielder provided an abundance of skills. In 2021, Richardson recorded 25 hits through his 27 game appearances. Richardson scored a 2-run home run and an RBI single against Dunedin tonight.
RHP Yon Castro and LHP Ryan Anderson held the Blue Jays to eight scoreless innings allowing only two hits. After the eight scoreless innings, RHP Trevor Holloway let up a one-run homerun to center field. Despite the let up, the Tarpons held strong to seal a 3-1 victory over the Dunedin Blue Jays.
The Tarpons face off against Dunedin in Tampa on Wednesday April 13th, as they continue their six-game series. RHP Richard Fitts is scheduled to make the start.
