DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Minor League Baseball, in conjunction with Esurance, awarded the Daytona Tortugas the Florida State League Home Field Advantage Award Tuesday morning for the second straight season. The award was created last season and the Tortugas are one of 12 teams to win each year.
The Award recognizes the teams with the highest percentage of attendance based on ballpark capacity for the 2017 season in each Minor League. The Tortugas, along with the 13 other winning clubs, will be recognized at the 2017 Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando this December.
The Tortugas welcomed in more than 136,000 fans this season, 24,000 more than 2016, which was the second highest total in the Florida State League. Daytona was one of four Cincinnati Reds affiliates to win the award.
