Three C's named to All-Star Game set for August 1st

(Gesa Stadium - Pasco, WA) - The Northwest League of Professional Baseball has announced it's 2017 All-Star Team and three (3) Vancouver Canadians have been added to the mid-summer classic roster. (Gesa Stadium - Pasco, WA) - The Northwest League of Professional Baseball has announced it's 2017 All-Star Team and three (3) Vancouver Canadians have been added to the mid-summer classic roster. Catcher Riley Adams along with pitchers Orlando Pascual and William Ouellette will be heading to Hillsboro, Oregon to help take on the Pioneer League on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017.
C Riley Adams, the Toronto Blue Jays 3rd round pick in this year's MLB First-Year Player Draft has been a force on both sides of the mask. Offensively, the University of San Diego standout is tied for 2nd in the NWL hitting .327 (34-for-104) with two home runs and 21 RBI over his 26 games. Behind the mask, Adams has a fielding percentage of 1.000 as in 14 games he has yet to commit an error while throwing out 50% (11-for-22) of the runner's that have tried to advance.
RHP William Ouellette (pronounced WILL-ette) ranks second in the NWL with a team-high six (6) saves finishing 11 of the Canadians games this season (2nd in NWL). Signed as a non-drafted free agent after finishing his post-secondary career at Cal State - San Bernardino, the 24-year old right-hander is currently 3-0 with a 4.67 ERA and has 19 strikeouts in 17.1 innings of work.
RHP Orlando Pascual (pronounced PASS-cal) has been the most dominant arm out of the Canadians bullpen in 2017 as the native of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic is 2-0 with a microscopic 1.35 ERA in 13 games. Pascual has 25 strikeouts and just six (6) walks over his 20 innings this summer and did not give up a run over his first six outings this season (June 25-July 13).
The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club wishes to congratulate these three players that help secure the North Division First-Half Pennant and hope they will enjoy this All-Star Game experience set for August 1st in Hillsboro, Oregon as the best of the Northwest League face off against the best of the Pioneer League out at Ron Tonkin Field with first pitch set for 7:05pm.
Vancouver Canadians broadcaster Rob Fai will have the call of the 2017 All-Star Game live from Hillsboro, Oregon on a game heard live on Rip City Radio 620 AM.
