Arriera (3-6) won his first game since May 1st, allowing only three singles in 5.1 innings, walking five and recording five strikeouts. Del Moral (1-1) lost his first game of 2019, giving up nine hits and four earned runs. Del Moral struck out three and walked two. Lipcius and Proctor lead the offense with three hits each for the Whitecaps. Proctor was pressed into duty after McMillan left the game after fouling a pitch off his foot in the first inning, while Parker Meadows left the game with a bruised knee in the sixth. The Whitecaps limited Kane County to seven hits and snapped a two-game losing streak. West Michigan improves to 30-60 and 9-13 in the second half. Kane County, who entered the game tied for first place in the Western Division, slipped to 14-8 and 49-42 in 2019. The Whitecaps enjoyed their best hit total since a 20-hit attack in a 15-1 victory over Dayton on June 26th to take the win in the first game of a three-game series and the fourth game of a six-game homestand.
