The Whitecaps started the party with a pair of runs in the first, as Paredes laced an RBI-single to give West Michigan a 2-0 lead. After the Captains plated a run in the first, the 'Caps blew things open in the third with a six-run inning. Both Paredes and Austin Athmann stroked two-run home runs to highlight the frame. The Captains briefly climbed back in the ballgame with a three-run third featuring a two-run double by Li-Jen Chu, but Paredes led off the fifth with a long home run to left field, his second of the game to extend the lead to 13-4. The Captains plated three runs in the eighth, but it was too little - too late as the 'Caps scored two more in the ninth and went on to take four games of the five-game series.
