GRAND CHUTE, WI - Alex Laedtke of Madison, Wisconsin is the winner of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers BP: Your Way contest to design the team's batting practice jerseys for the fast-approaching season. The winning design was one of numerous entries submitted to the team during the contest.
"I'm thrilled and honored to have my design chosen as the winner," said Laedtke. "I can't wait to see the finished product."
A panel of judges from the Timber Rattlers front office and coaching staff chose Laedtke's design from five finalists.
"The design was inspired by the team's nickname, which is seen in the snakeskin patterned side panels and a custom number font with fang-like styling to complement the Timber Rattlers wordmark logo," said Laedtke. "I think this jersey gives the players a fresh, team-specific look that pushes beyond a standard batting practice uniform."
The front of the jersey is black with a small player number on the upper left chest. The back of the design is red with a larger number in black. To see an image of Laedtke's jersey design please see this post at Rattler Radio.
Wisconsin players will wear these jerseys for batting practice and occasional games during the 2015 season.
The Timber Rattlers will begin their 21st season of baseball on April 9, 2015 with a road game. Wisconsin's home opener is Sunday, April 12 at 4:05pm against the Peoria Chiefs.
