Davenport, IA: The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers hit the road and won their first full series of the year against the Quad City River Bandits this past week at Modern Woodman Park.
Entering the series 1-1, the Rattlers improved to 5-3 after winning Tuesday (6-0), Wednesday (9-1), Friday (9-0) and game one on Sunday (5-3). The River Bandits welcomed the Rattlers to open up their 2026 campaign, and claimed victories on Thursday (11-1) and game two of Sunday’s doubleheader (7-6).
The Timber Rattlers pitching staff was exceptional, tossing a shutout in the Tuesday win and totaling 17 strikeouts, tying for the fourth most in a single game in franchise history since 2021. Braylon Owens had eight of those K’s to earn his first win as a Rattler.
A solo home run by Blake Mitchell (No. 2 Royals Prospect) accounted for the only Quad Cities run on Wednesday, with Travis Smith earning the win on the strength of five strong innings of relief work.
On the bases Josiah Ragsdale stole a quad of bags on Wednesday, contributing to eight total as a team. At the plate, Josh Adamczewski hit a three-run home run for his first long ball of the year, and Andrew Fischer’s grand slam would give the Rattlers a comfortable victory.

The Rattlers fell 11-1 on Thursday which snapped a three-game winning streak. A five-run first inning from the River Bandits along with four Rattler errors in the game made it a tough night for the visitors.
Friday was a rebound victory for the Rattlers. The pitchers limited the River Bandits to two hits while recording their second shutout of the series courtesy of starting pitcher Bryce Meccage and relievers Chandler Welch, who picked up the win with three perfect innings, and Jack Seppings. The offense tallied nine runs on nine hits with the bottom of the order leading the way by going an impressive 4-for-12 with six walks and five RBI.
The weather cooperated for Sunday’s doubleheader, resulting in a split of narrow affairs on getaway day.
Down 2-0 early in Game 1, the Rattlers scored three runs in the third inning to take the lead. Yerlin Rodriguez earned his first win of the season while Yorman Galindez was awarded his first save. While the pitching held the River Bandits to just three hits, the bottom of the order stepped up again, going 4-for-10 with solo home runs for Tayden Hall and David Garcia, each hitting their first of the season.

There were several standout performances by the Rattlers at Modern Woodmen Park starting with Luis Peña, the No. 2 Brewers Prospect. He had a terrific series with a .526 average over his five games played with six RBI, three stolen bases, six runs and a pair of extra-base hits. Peña returns to Neuroscience Group Field this week hitting .500 on the season.

Fischer’s eight RBI at Quad Cities means that he is tied for second in the Midwest League in that category. Juan Baez hit .385 in the series with five hits and four runs scored. Eric Bitonti hit a pair of doubles, stole two bases, drew seven walks, and left the series with an eight-game on-base streak. Ragsdale was 6-for-6 in steals in the series and he is tied for the league lead with Won-Bin Cho of the Peoria Chiefs. Cho and the Chiefs are the next opponents for the Timber Rattlers this week.
The pitching staff held Quad Cities to a .210 batting average. Owens ended the series with thirteen strikeouts across 7.1 IP. Galindez and Torres each racked up five strikeouts. Fowler and Jason Woodward each went 2.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts in their outings. Seppings allowed just two baserunners and no runs in his three innings across two games.
