“Pride” manifests in many ways for us all. Rainbow-filled parades or unashamedly holding hands with your partner in public aren’t the only ways. For others it might look like permission and safety to live authentically. Another, it may be breaking barriers and being the first LGBTQ+ person in your field of work. A beautiful part of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community is honoring all the diverse experiences and lives of those in it- which is exactly why we want to honor those around us by uplifting their stories and offering the space for visibility that so often has to be fought for. Every story of Pride is worth telling, and the more stories we tell, the more others can recognize themselves- and see that Pride can look like them, too.
