RubberDucks to Host 5K Run on April 17

(AKRON, OHIO) April 8, 2016 - The Akron RubberDucks are partnering with Western Reserve Racing to host the Akron RubberDucks 5K Run and One-Mile Kids Run on Sunday, April 17, before the scheduled game vs. Bowie Baysox at 2:05 p.m.

Race registration begins at 9 a.m. at Canal Park with the One-Mile Kids Run (ages 12 and under) scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The RubberDucks 5K Run will begin at 10:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow the race at the finish line. Gates to Canal Park will open at 12:30 p.m. before the scheduled 2:05 p.m. start vs. Bowie Baysox.

Interested participants can register for the runs at https://www.westernreserveracing.com/events/akron-rubber-ducks-5k/

Registration until April 16 is $30 and it is $35 on Race Day. The One-Mile Kids Run is $10.

Runners will receive a ticket and free refreshment to that afternoon's RubberDucks game. For kids in the One-Mile Kids Run, they will receive a RubberDucks game ticket.

Participants will have the option to add on a RubberDucks picnic, or additional game tickets for just $7.

  • RubberDucks vs. Bowie Baysox 2:05 p.m.

ALSO INCLUDED: Game Ticket and Free Refreshment; Game Ticket for One-Mile Kids Run participants

BONUS OPTION: Additional game tickets for just $7 or add-on a RubberDucks picnic

The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The 2016 season is its 20th since moving to Akron and third since becoming the RubberDucks.
