Quack Open a Book and Read presented by FirstEnergy rewards students with a free ticket to a select RubberDucks game in April for reading four books.
The RubberDucks will honor Quack Open a Book and Read students that “read around the bases” and finish four books! Reading program participants will be honored at the game with a pre-game parade around the field and every participant is included in a raffle each game where a few students will be selected to win a special opportunity like a first pitch! The parents/guardians of those selected participants will be contacted the day before the game.
The Quack Open a Book and Read game dates are Friday - April 3rd, Tuesday - April 14th, Wednesday - April 15th, Tuesday - April 28th, and Wednesday - April 29th.
Students who complete the program can select any one of these dates to redeem their free ticket. Family members of a reading program student will have an opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to the game that their reading program student attends.
If your school is interested in a visit from one of our Akron RubberDucks mascots to share about the Quack Open a Book and Read program with students, please email the RubberDucks at [email protected]. All students are welcome to participate! Just download the reading program flier and start tracking your books. Once your student finishes all four books, scan the QR code and select a game date to get your tickets.
