RubberDucks First Ohio Sports Team to Introduce Apple Pay
(AKRON, OHIO) Oct. 22, 2014 - The Akron RubberDucks announced today it will accept Apple Pay at Canal Park for the 2015 season, making it the first Minor League Baseball team and professional Ohio-based sports team, to introduce plans to use the newly-debuted technology.
Apple Pay, which was debuted by Apple (www.apple.com) on Monday at national retailers, is the newest technology allowing fans to pay in an easy contactless, secured way using their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus without needing to take out a wallet or credit card. The team will also accept payments using Google Wallet on select Android devices.
Canal Park will accept Apple Pay at the Season Ticket Holder Express Lane, which is in the Taters concession stand located along the left-field concourse by section 14. It will also be accepted at the Suite-Level Bar, with additional park locations possible by Opening Day, Thursday, April 9.

Major League Baseball introduced Apple Pay Tuesday for Game 1 of the World Series at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium.
