(AKRON, OHIO) September 15, 2021 – The Akron RubberDucks’ Drive to the Playoffs presented by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company comes down to this week’s regular-season-ending homestand at Canal Park against the Somerset Patriots, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.

Entering Sunday’s action, the RubberDucks (72-46) is tied with Somerset (72-46), both a half-game ahead of Bowie (72-47) for the two playoff spots in the Double-A Northeast. The top two teams (based on winning percentage, regardless of division) from the Double-A Northeast League will meet in a best-of-five series for the league championship. The RubberDucks can clinch a playoff berth with a win over Somerset in Sunday's regular season finale or a loss by Bowie on Sunday.

Sunday, Sept. 19, 2:05 p.m. – Somerset at Akron

If the RubberDucks qualify for the postseason, they would play in a best-of-five Double-A Northeast Championship Series, with home games presented by Brennan Manna Diamond.

Sunday, Sept. 26 – Game 5 at #1 seed, if necessary (6:05 p.m. if at Canal Park)

Tickets for potential RubberDucks home Championship Series games presented by Brennan Manna Diamond would become available when the RubberDucks clinch a playoff berth. Any playoff tickets purchased for games not played (for example, “if necessary” games) can be used as a credit for tickets to any 2022 RubberDucks regular season home game.
