Back-to-Back Triples Induce Hitting Barrage

Everett, WA - The Everett AquaSox (17-21) won their fourth game in a row against the Boise Hawks (19-19), 11-5, by holding the Hawks scoreless in the first four innings on July 23, 2017 at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Everett, WA - The Everett AquaSox (17-21) won their fourth game in a row against the Boise Hawks (19-19), 11-5, by holding the Hawks scoreless in the first four innings on July 23, 2017 at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Joseph Rosa and Austin Grebeck started the game off with back-to-back triples giving the Frogs an early 1-0 lead. Eugene Helder's single to right field allowed Grebeck to score another run in the inning, 2-0.
Juan Camacho continued the Frog attack at the plate in the second inning as he hit a ball over the left center field fence for the first run in the second inning, 3-0. The Frogs had a lot of two-out magic as Rosa doubled on a line drive to right field sending Joe Venturino home. Hits by Grebeck, Helder and Johnny Adams scored three more runs in the inning, 6-0. Hawks pitcher Pearson McMahan would end up with an early exit giving up six runs on eight hits.
Boise managed to put two runs on the board off Andres Torres, however, the Frogs matched the Hawks in the bottom half of the fifth with two of their own, 8-2.
Hawks DH Will Haynie hit an RBI single to right field in the sixth inning, giving Boise their third run of the game, 8-3. In the bottom half, the Sox strung four hits together scoring both Grebeck and Helder, 10-3.
David Banuelos clobbered the ball to the top of the left field wall for an RBI double in the eighth inning which extended the Frogs lead to 11-3. Relief pitcher David Gerber gave up a two-run homerun in the top of the ninth on a Bret Boswell homerun. Gerber handled the last out of the game on a liner back to the mound, giving the Sox their fourth consecutive win, 11-5.
