Asheville Tourists Youth Clinics
The Asheville Tourists will host the first of two free youth clinics at McCormick Field on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The team's coaching staff and many of the players will provide instruction in various phases of the game. Players of all ages are welcome to attend, and all players need to bring their glove to the clinic. No registration is required.
The Tourists will also host their second youth clinic on Saturday, May 30, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. That clinic will be followed at 1 p.m. by the annual "Meet The Tourists" luncheon, which is being hosted this year by Texas Roadhouse.
Tickets to the luncheon are $5 each and are available at the Tourists front office. All proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Asheville Tourists Children's Fund.
"We have been hosting the clinics for more than 20 years and it continues to be one of the more popular and enjoyable events we have on an annual basis," said assistant general manager Chris Smith. "The luncheon is also a great opportunity to meet the players and have a great meal at a great price. We traditionally have a large turnout for these events and we're looking forward to another successful round this season."
All kids attending the clinic will receive a free ticket to a future Tourists game. For additional information, contact the Tourists front office at (828) 258-0428.
