ASHEVILLE- Luis Santana had himself a night on Thursday. The Asheville Tourists second-baseman went 3-for-5 with a pair of Home Runs, a double, three runs scored, and five runs batted in. Santana had plenty of assistance from his teammates as the Tourists made it two in a row over the Brooklyn Cyclones with an 11-4 win.

Sanatana’s first Home Run came in the bottom of the first inning. It was a three-run shot to left-centerfield that capped a four-run frame. Enmanuel Valdez clubbed an RBI triple earlier in the inning to score Wilyer Abreu.

The Tourists added four more runs in the third. Once again, a Santana Home Run highlighted the damage. Luis blasted a two-run no-doubter to right-centerfield and celebrated emphatically the instant the ball left the bat. Asheville tacked on two more runs on RBI base hits by Tyler Krabbe and Ramiro Rodriguez.

However, the scoring continued with a two-run fifth inning. Colin Barber and Rodriguez each drove in runs to push the Tourists into double-digits. Rodriguez also scored on a passed ball later in the game.

Matt Ruppenthal earned the victory in his Tourists debut. The right-hander tossed five innings and limited the Cyclones to two runs on three hits. Jimmy Endersby notched a four-inning save by picking up where Ruppenthal left off. Endersby struck out seven over his four innings of work.

Alex Holderbach finished with two hits, joining Rodriguez and Santana with multi-hit performances. Hayden Senger and Brett Baty led the way for Brooklyn with two hits apiece.
