CHARLESTON, SC - The Asheville Tourists bounced back from yesterday with an impressive victory over the Charleston RiverDogs. Asheville's pitching, which consisted of five pitchers, limited Charleston to one run and four hits. The Tourists managed some early offense and mid-game insurance to best the RiverDogs 4-1.
John Cresto put Asheville in front in the second inning. The Tourists DH ripped a two-run single into left field. The base hit came with two outs and plated both Grant Lavigne and Daniel Montano . Montano was ruled safe at home plate with and outstanding pop-up slide that helped him avoid the tag.

Asheville's starting pitcher, Ryan Feltner , was ejected from the game in the bottom of the third. Feltner pitched a pair of scoreless innings and had induced back-to-back groundouts before Charleston's manager, Julio Mosquera, complained about Feltner's glove. The umpires ultimately sided with Mosquera and Feltner was given an early exit.
Jake Bird came in and tossed 3.1 scoreless frames with six strikeouts. PJ Poulin followed with two perfect innings that included four strikeouts. Jacob Bosiokovic and Alexander Martinez combined to pitched the ninth with Martinez earning save number 12 on the season.
The Tourists offense gave their bullpen some breathing room with two runs in the sixth inning. Lavigne lined an RBI single into left and Coco Montes added a sacrifice fly. Lavigne was the only player for either team to record a multi-hit game.
Ashevlle and Charleston will face off for game three of their current series on Saturday night. The first pitch is set for 6:05pm.
