PEORIA, IL – Beloit Snappers’ (21-20) first baseman Troy Johnston hit for the cycle with a season-high six RBIs in Saturday’s 15-8 win over the Peoria Chiefs (16-25).

With Beloit up 2-0, the Snappers piled on six runs in the second where Johnston got his second hit – a double to right-center field – scoring two runs.
Peoria scored two runs in the third inning to try and make it interesting, but that’s when Johnston came to the plate again. In the top of the fourth, he ripped another ball to right-center field and legged out an RBI triple to score Will Banfield.
Johnston’s final hit of the cycle came in the top of the eighth, where he added an RBI single to cap his night with his fourth hit and sixth RBI.

The Snappers scored multiple runs in the first, second, fourth, and eighth innings and cruised to a 15-8 win over the Chiefs, giving them a 4-1 series lead.
Beloit’s Top Performers: Starter Kyle Nicolas earned his third win of the year with five innings and one earned run. Will Banfield went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Griffin Conine went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run and four RBIs. Connor Scott had a three-hit night with a walk and an RBI.
