CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Beloit Snappers (30-39) starter M.D. Johnson tossed his third straight quality start for the Snappers on Thursday with just one unearned run in six innings. He struck out nine, but one run was the difference in the Cedar Rapids Kernels' (39-31) 1-0 win.

The Snappers' offense logged just four hits in the contest and six total over their last 20 innings. The lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single from Kernels' second baseman Michael Helman to score Seth Gray.

Beloit had a chance in the seventh inning after an error from Matt Wallner put David Martinez in scoring position with one out; however, Beloit's offense couldn't convert and would fall 1-0.

Beloit's Top Performers: Johnson threw six innings with zero earned runs on four hits, one walk, and nine strikeouts. Victor Victor Mesa reached base three times on two hits, including a double. Mesa has hit in all five games he's played in a Snappers uniform.
