PENSACOLA, FL – For the second straight night, the Biloxi Shuckers (10-9) brought up the tying run in the ninth, but Austin Roberts struck out back-to-back hitters to secure a 4-1 win for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (10-9) at Blue Wahoos Stadium on Friday night.

TJ Shook got the start for Biloxi and struck out three of the first four batters he faced. In the second, Pensacola struck first with an RBI single that rolled fair up the third-base line from Harrison Spohn. The single gave Pensacola a 1-0 lead.

Evan Fitterer, Pensacola's starter, retired each of the first nine batters he faced before Biloxi reached with an error to begin the fourth. The Shuckers loaded the bases, but Fitterer worked out of trouble without allowing a run. Pensacola extended its lead to two in the fourth with an RBI double from Cody Morissette, scoring Shane Sasaki from second.

The Shuckers threatened again in the sixth, putting two on with two out, but reliever Chandler Jozwiak stranded both out of the bullpen, keeping Biloxi off the board. In the bottom of the inning, a throwing error on a double from Shane Sasaki allowed Jacob Berry to score from third and an RBI double from Cody Morissette made it a 4-0 lead for Pensacola.

In the ninth, the Shuckers used a hit batter and two walks to load the bases with one out. The runners were moved up on a balk from Austin Roberts, making it 4-1. Roberts, however, recorded back-to-back strikeouts, closing out a 4-1 win for the Blue Wahoos. The loss also clinched a series win for Pensacola, Biloxi's first in a six-game series this season.

Fitterer (1-1) earned the win for Pensacola while Shook (1-2) took the loss for Biloxi. Shook tied his season-high with seven strikeouts on the mound and allowed two runs over five innings. Sam Gardner turned in two scoreless innings out of the bullpen for Biloxi, including three strikeouts.

Nate Peterson (1-1, 3.68) is slated to start on Saturday for Biloxi against MD Johnson for Pensacola. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at Blue Wahoos Stadium.
