For the first time in franchise history, the Biloxi Shuckers (58-64, 24-31 2nd Half) were held without a hit in an 8-0 loss to the Rocket City Trash Pandas (74-51, 33-23 2nd Half) on Saturday night at Toyota Field.

Biloxi was held without a base runner through the first six innings as RHP Chase Silseth (W, 5-0) struck out eight batters through the first six frames.

On the other side, RHP Justin Jarvis (L, 0-1) didn’t allow a hit through his first two frames and worked around a couple of base runners to keep the Trash Pandas off the scoreboard. Rocket City would get on the board in the bottom of the third on a three-run homer by Zach Neto, his third of the season, putting the Trash Pandas up 3-0. After the third ended, Jarvis was ejected by home plate umpire Joe Belangia.

Rocket City added on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI groundout and a two-run homer by Livan Soto, making it 6-0 in favor of the Trash Pandas.

The Shuckers got their first base runner with two outs in the top of the seventh inning when Garrett Whitley reached on a catcher’s interference. Thomas Dillard worked a walk to put two men on, but Silseth induced a fielder’s choice to end the inning.

In the eighth, Zavier Warren and Terence Doston each walked, but RHP Luke Murphy struck out the last batter to leave two men on base. In the ninth, Cam Devanney and Wes Clarke each walked against LHP Eric Torres, though the lefty struck out three in the inning to finish the game.

Biloxi concludes their series against the Trash Pandas on Sunday afternoon at Toyota Field. Biloxi is set to send LHP Nick Bennett (6-10, 5.13) to the hill against Rocket City RHP Brett Kerry (4-6, 4.60) for a 2:35 pm first pitch. The game can be seen on MiLB.TV and heard locally on WGCM AM 1240/FM 100.9 or online here.
