*CHATTANOOGA, TN *– The Chattanooga Lookouts (32-30) defeated the Biloxi Shuckers (30-31) 7-6 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Field. The Shuckers still win the series, taking four out of the six games from the Lookouts.

Biloxi started their comeback with a three-run eighth inning after trailing 4-2 for most of the contest. In the eighth, Yeison Coca delivered a two-RBI single down the left-field line to tie the game at four. With runners on the corners, Coca was caught in a rundown between first and second base. The rundown allowed Noah Campbell to score from third and Biloxi carried a 5-4 lead into the ninth.

RHP Zach Vennaro entered the game in the ninth attempting to earn his seventh save of the season. After Michael De Leon singled with one out, Ivan Johnson replaced him as a pinch-runner. Johnson quickly advanced to second base on a wild pitch and then scored on a Jonathan Willems single through the right side of the infield to tie the game at five a piece. With the throw routing to home plate on the single, Willems was running to second base when a throwing error allowed Willems to take third base. With two outs and the winning run at third base, James Free lined out to right field. After making the catch, Joey Wiemer hosed Willems at home plate to extend the game into extra innings.

After the first two men were retired in the tenth inning, Cam Devanney flared an RBI single into center field to score Felix Valerio and Biloxi retook the lead 6-5. With the single, Devanney extended his hitting streak to 12 games. In the bottom of the tenth, after a hit by a pitch and a walk loaded the bases, Isiah Gilliam belted a double down the right-field line off Kent Hasler (BS, 1, L, 0-3) to seal the 7-6 win for Chattanooga.

In his third game on Major League rehab assignment with Biloxi, Pedro Severino opened up the scoring with a two-run home run to left-field in the third inning. Shuckers’ LHP Brandon Knarr was cruising in his second start of the series. The southpaw ran into trouble in the fifth inning after a one-out triple by Jonathan Willems. A pair of errors allowed a run to score and extended the inning for Matt McLain to crush a two-run home run. Only one of the four runs scored in the fifth inning by Chattanooga were earned runs and the Lookouts led 4-2 at the halfway point.

After an off day tomorrow, the Shuckers wrap up the first half of the season at MGM Park with a six-game series vs the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
