The Biloxi Shuckers (13-23) dropped the final game of the series to the Mississippi Braves (20-16) 11-2 after a rain delay cut the game to seven innings.

After a two-hour rain delay, RHP Noah Zavolas (2-3 ,6.97) got the start for the Shuckers and gave up three runs in the first inning but settled in through the second and third inning. The M-Braves put up crooked numbers in the first, fourth, fifth and seventh innings en route to their victory.

The Shuckers trailed 3-0 heading into the bottom of the third inning when Ryan Aguilar reached on a fielder’s choice and then was advanced to third on an error by M-Braves’ second baseman Wendell Rijo. Aguilar was then able to take advantage of a throwing error by M-Braves’ catcher Shea Langeliers when a throw down to third sailed wide allowing Aguilar to come home. The Shuckers then had a chance to tie the game when they loaded up the bases on a walk to Alexander Palma. However, a flyout to left by Luis Castro ended the inning.

Biloxi found their second run of the game in the fifth inning. David Fry led off the bottom of the fifth with a double and was brought home by Palma on a double down the left-field line. Palma was left stranded at second as the inning ended.

The Shuckers now head on the road for a six-game series against the Rocket City Trash Pandas, the first game of which will be on Tuesday at 6:35 pm. The Shuckers are set to send RHP Brooks Hall (NR) to the mound while the Trash Pandas have yet to announce a starter. The game can be heard locally on Cruisin’ WGCM AM 1240/FM 100.9
