Jacob Misiorowski Named Southern League Pitcher of the Week
BILOXI, MS – Minor League Baseball announced today that Biloxi Shuckers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski has been named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 22-28, 2024. It marks the second time Misiorowski has won the Southern League Pitcher of the Week award in his career
BILOXI, MS – Minor League Baseball announced today that Biloxi Shuckers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski has been named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 22-28, 2024. It marks the second time Misiorowski has won the Southern League Pitcher of the Week award in his career and the first time a Shuckers player has been honored with a weekly award during the 2024 season. Misiorowski previously won the award on August 20, 2023, after he tied the franchise record with 12 strikeouts over six shutout innings.
In two starts against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos over the past week, Misiorowski allowed one run and one hit over eight innings. He also walked two and struck out 13. Misiorowski’s 13 strikeouts were tied for the second-most in the Southern League. In his first start of the week, on April 23, he tied his season-high with seven strikeouts over 4.1 innings. In the series finale, Misiorowski struck out six over 3.2 no-hit innings.
Misiorowski enters today as the Southern League leader in opponent’s average (.115), tied for third in strikeouts (28) and 10th in WHIP (1.09).
