The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, USA Baseball, and USA Softball are teaming up to host a free Jr. Home Run Derby event as part of Play Ball Weekend on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Major League Baseball's Jr. Home Run Derby (Jr. HRD) is a free event for softball and baseball players, to showcase their hitting skills, and potentially earn a spot at the National Finals, which takes part during the 2023 MLB All-Star Week.
Participants will compete in either age division, 12 U or 14 U, with age cut-off set on July 20, 2023.
Inclusion and access are always a top priority for Major League Baseball, and we're excited to announce that the program has expanded to include a *softball-specific *competition in the 14 U and 16 U age division.
