Binghamton’s newest name is inspired by the rich Italian Heritage found not only in Binghamton, but throughout the Southern Tier region; specifically Endicott, NY. In the early days of Endicott, NY an area known as the “North Side,” was huge with Italian roots. Many of the Italian immigrants moving to the region worked at a shoe factory known as Endicott-Johnson. However, local property owners wouldn't sell land to Italian Immigrants, so Endicott-Johnson purchased properties for their employees and along the cobblestone streets of Endicott grew the vibrant community of Little Italy with fantastic food destinations. Some of those restaurants remain to this day with Oaks Inn and Consol's Family Kitchen.

The Spicy Meatballs cap logo features a meatball portrayed as an Italian gondolier on a bed of pasta making it's way through a river of sauce with a baseball bat fork. The meatball features the traditional black and white shirt along with the cream color hat and red accents.

The secondary logo of the Southern Tier Spicy Meatballs depicts the baseball bat fork of the gondolier, which has poked a meatball baseball wrapped around spaghetti noodles and dripping sauce.

The word mark of the Southern Tier Spicy Meatballs is inspired by the meatball, the word Meatballs is filled with a depiction of the meatball meat sitting in a red sauce similar to the one that the gondolier is paddling through and the word spicy in the red sauce coloring. The word "Southern Tier" is used to encompass the rich Italian Heritage of Binghamton and the surrounding area such as Endicott, NY.
