MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Montgomery Biscuits announced today a number of exciting events taking place for their 14th Opening Night at Riverwalk Stadium, all happening on Thursday, April 6th.

Highlighting the night is a rare opportunity for fans to get an up-close and personal experience with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds pilots and crew. The Thunderbirds will be in attendance along with Patrouille de France, the French Air Force aerobatic team, for a pre-game ceremony on the field and an autograph session taking place on the concourse. The two Air Force teams will be in Montgomery for the Maxwell Air Show and Open House taking place at Maxwell Air Force Base from April 8-9 and will be using Riverwalk Stadium for a public appearance out of their aircrafts.

The Air Show is in celebration of the United States Air Force 70th Anniversary, and will mark the first time in over 30 years the French Air Force have been on American soil. Opening Night also has special significance for Montgomery and the Armed Forces as April 6th, 2017 marks the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War I, in which both French and American troops were shipped out of Montgomery's train depots en route to European deployments.

Since Opening Night takes place on a Thursday Night, that also means the Biscuits' fan-favorite "Thirsty Thursday" promotion will be in full-effect. That means fans will enjoy $2 food and beverage specials all night long. Local jazz band, "The Lo-Fi Loungers" will be on hand to perform music for fans as they enter the stadium. The band will then play a concert post-game in the Club Car Bar as the Thirsty Thursday festivities continue.

The Biscuits will also be unveiling a number of new food items at Riverwalk Stadium on Opening Night. The incredibly popular and acclaimed "Hickory's BBQ" stand returns and will feature more items from the Biscuits smoker, including a new "BBQ Sunday" featuring smoked pulled pork, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and homemade coleslaw in an easy to serve bowl. The Biscuits will also be introducing a new "Chicken Philly" sandwich, as well as popular southern items like Fried Pickles, a Pimento Cheese Burger, and even a Pimento Cheese Biscuit. Not only that, but the Biscuits will also be lowering prices on a number of items at the concessions stands, including popcorn, funnel cakes, smoked wings, and mac & cheese among others.

The Biscuits will be taking on the Biloxi Shuckers at a scheduled first pitch of 7:05 PM. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the game at 6:00 PM to enjoy the full amount of pre-game festivities taking place. The Biscuits are coming off of back-to-back Playoff appearances and are expected to have a number of Tampa Bay Rays prospects on the Opening Day Roster, which will be announced closer to April 1st. Fans will have the opportunity to learn more about the Opening Day Roster at the Biscuits annual "Meet the Team" event, scheduled for Tuesday, April 4th at Riverwalk Stadium at 6:00 PM.
