JUPITER, Fla. — The Marauders rallied for six runs in the third inning Sunday afternoon and never looked back, coasting to a 9-2 win over the Jupiter Hammerheads at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

The win ended a five-game losing streak for the Marauders (16-17), who avoided being swept in a series for the first time since 2019.

All ten of the batters who appeared in the game for Bradenton reached base safely, with Juan Jerez’ three hits and Tsung-Che Cheng’s three RBI leading the club. The Marauders went 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

Right-hander Joelvis Del Rosario (1-1) earned the win, striking out a season-high seven batters in five scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and two walks.

The Marauders sent ten men to the plate in the top of the third inning. Sergio Campana reached on a fielding error by Jupiter (19-14) shortstop Kahlil Watson, opening the floodgates for a flurry of activity. Luke Brown walked, and after a strikeout, Jase Bowen lined an RBI-double for the game’s first run. A Brenden Dixon walk loaded the bases, and back-to-back RBI-singles by Mike Jarvis and Jerez gave Bradenton a 3-0 lead and chased Hammerheads starter Sandro Bargallo (1-1) from the game. Reliever Luarbert Arias forced home a fourth run by hitting Jakob Goldfarb with a pitch, and Cheng capped the six-run rally with a two-run, ground-rule double to left-center.

Bradenton would add another run in the fifth on a Cheng RBI-single, and in the eighth, a Rodolfo Nolasco RBI-double and a run-scoring groundout by Bowen stretched the team’s lead to 9-0.

After Del Rosario finished on the mound for the Marauders, relievers Jake Sweeney and Darvin Garcia tossed a scoreless sixth and seventh, respectively. Carlos Lomeli pitched the eighth and allowed two runs on three hits, including a Jorge Caballero solo homer and an Ian Lewis RBI-single, but the Marauders maintained a seven-run lead.

Right-hander Sergio Umana tossed a scoreless ninth inning for Bradenton on just eight pitches.

The Marauders remain in Jupiter for their next series, opening a six-game set on Tuesday against the Palm Beach Cardinals, Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
