BRADENTON, Fla. - In a game that included an eighth minute lightning delay, a two-base catchers interference call, and a home run for each side, the Bradenton Marauders defeated the Clearwater Threshers by a 3-2 tally on Monday night. The game took ten innings and three hours on the dot included a delay of all of eight minutes in the fifth inning and was the Marauders fifth extra inning victory on the 2018 season.

Mike Wallace took a no decision after tossing six innings for his third consecutive start with an even six innings pitched while striking out five and allowing just two runs on seven hits with the only offense for the visitors coming on a Luke Williams two-run blast in the third inning. Wallace also became just the third Bradenton starter to last over 100 pitches on the season, joining James Marvel and Cam Vieaux in the triple digit pitch club.

Jared Oliva tied the game with a solo home run coming out of the seventh inning stretch, his eighth long ball of the year and his sixth total to lead off an inning, including four to begin a ballgame. With the score knotted up at two headed into the final innings, the stage was set for a dramatic finish at LECOM Park. After Blake Weiman tossed two scoreless innings in the ninth and tenth, Jared Oliva began the home half of the first extra inning on second base when Adrian Valerio bunted him to third on his league leading 11th sac bunt of the year. After back to back walks, one of them intentional, Hunter Owen beat out an infield dribbler to the first base side to allow Oliva to score the game-winning run for the Marauders third walkoff win of the season.

The Marauders continue their four game set with the Threshers on Tuesday at 6:30 with LHP Oddy Nunez on the hill for Bradenton and RHP Adonis Medina throwing for the visitors.
