DUNEDIN, Fla. - For the fifth time in the 2018 season the Bradenton Marauders emerged victorious over the Dunedin Blue Jays on Tuesday night. Keeping a perfect 5-0 record on the season, the Marauders used seven efficient innings from Eduardo Vera and a pair of lockdown frames from Scooter Hightower to close the game out and move one game closer to the second consecutive sweep against the Blue Jays.

Jared Oliva knocked his second home run of the season to begin the ballgame, a towering shot to left field, and Bradenton was up one after an inning of play. Dunedin plated their only two runs of the game in the home half of the second when Riley Adams stroked a double with two runners on base to give the Jays their only lead of the game after the second inning, With a runner on second base in the visitor's half of the third, Arden Pabst clubbed his third home run in his last two appearances to give the Marauders the lead back for good, with a pair of doubles from Pabst and Bligh Madris in the fifth that added an insurance run and ended the offense for both sides.

In his third win of the season, Eduardo Vera battled through selective rough patches in the second and seventh innings, registering 1-2-3 frames in the first inning and numbers three through six after that. Vera finished with two earned runs on five hits while tossing 98 pitches, 59 of them for strikes. Scooter Hightower worked through six batters in almost record time, striking out three of the batters he faced while starting each of them out with a first-pitch strike. Hightower earned his second save in four tries on the 2018 campaign.

Bradenton finishes their three game series in Dunedin with an 11:00 am start on Wednesday, with RHP James Marvel on the hill for the Marauders and opposed by LHP Tayler Saucedo for the Blue Jays.
