TAMPA, FL — In their longest game of the 2024 season (3:42), the Bradenton Marauders were walked-off 10-9 in 10-innings by the Tampa Tarpons on Saturday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Bradenton’s offense came out firing in the first inning against Josh Grosz. Keiner Delgado was hit by a pitch, then stole second and third base before scoring on a throwing error to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead. Omar Alfonzo doubled and scored on a 454 ft home run by Axiel Plaz to complete the three-run first. Plaz has now homered in his first two games with the Marauders since his promotion on Friday.

Tampa answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning against Khristian Curtis. Jorbit Vivas and Jasson Dominguez reached base to start before Roderick Arias tripled both of them home to cut the Marauders lead to 3-2. Jackson Castillo later hit a sacrifice fly to score Arias and tie the game at three.

Kalae Harrison doubled to begin the second and scored on a Braylon Bishop single to give Bradenton the lead back at 4-3. After the three-run first, Curtis retired the next six batters before Tampa plated one more on a wild pitch to tie the game.

The Tarpons had their first lead in the sixth after scoring four runs against Peyton Stumbo. Tampa sent nine batters to the plate in the inning and scored all four runs on singles from Dominguez, Castillo, and George Lombard Jr.

With Tampa leading 8-4 in the seventh, the Major League rehabber Dominguez doubled down the right field line to score one more to make it a five-run cushion.

The Marauders didn’t back down in the eighth against Jordy Luciano who walked Eddy Rodriguez to start the frame. Shalin Polanco then singled with one-out before Brenny Escanio committed two errors that led to two runs scoring. With the lead cut to 9-6, Bishop tripled home two more runs to make it a one-run game. Solomon Maguire grounded out to first to score Bishop and tie the game at nine.

Magdiel Cotto (3-3) tossed a scoreless ninth to force extras. With Harrison as the extra-runner at second, Bishop walked but Kris Bow (1-0) held the Marauders in check in the 10th. Pinch hitter Hans Montero singled to begin the 10th, before Lombard Jr was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Arias who hit a fly ball to right field that scored Excanio to walk-off Bradenton 10-9 in 10 innings.

The Marauders and Tarpons wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon at George M. Steinbrenner Field. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 11:40 a.m. on the Marauders Broadcast Network. Bradenton turns to LHP Connor Oliver (0-0, 5.87) on the hill, while RHP Ryan Harvey (0-2, 11.42) goes opposite for Tampa.
