BRADENTON, Fla. — Three home runs and a stellar professional debut on the mound by Jared Jones propelled the Marauders to a 12-2 win over the Palm Beach Cardinals on Tuesday night at LECOM Park.

Jase Bowen, Alexander Mojica, and Hudson Head all homered in the game for the Marauders (10-9), matching the team’s season-high of three homers in a game. The club also matched its season-high of seven extra-base hits in the game, collecting four doubles along with the three home runs.

Jared Jones (1-0) earned the win with three scoreless innings of dominant relief, striking out six and allowing just two hits in his professional debut for Bradenton.

With the score tied, 2-2, Maikol Escotto led off the bottom of the sixth for Bradenton by singling off Palm Beach reliever Edwin Nunez (0-1). Bowen followed with an opposite-field, two-run homer to right field, giving the Marauders a 4-2 lead. Sammy Siani was then hit by a pitch, and Mojica followed with a two-run shot to left, extending Bradenton’s lead to six.

The Marauders went on to rally for an additional five runs in the eighth, led off by a Hudson Head solo homer. After a passed ball and a bases-loaded walk plated two more runs, Bowen capped the rally by delivering a two-run single, giving him a career-high four RBI on the evening.

Parker Brahms worked around a pair of walks to deliver a scoreless ninth, giving the Marauders bullpen a total of five scoreless innings.

Dariel Lopez was one of three Marauders to record multiple RBI in the game, lining a two-run double in the first inning to open the scoring.

Palm Beach’s two runs both came off Marauders starter Luis Ortiz. An RBI-groundout by Carlos Soto cut Bradenton’s lead to one run in the third, and in the fourth, the Cardinals (6-13) tied the score when, with Franklin Soto on first base, Ortiz picked up a dribbler off the bat off Matt Koperniak, throwing wildly past first and allowing the tying run to score.

Maikol Escotto went 2-for-3 with two walks for the Marauders, extending his on-base streak to 14 games.

The series continues Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at LECOM Park. Rehabbing Pirates RHP Jose Soriano (0-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Marauders against Palm Beach LHP John Beller (0-1, 3.18 ERA).
