(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - In a pitcher's duel throughout, the Charlotte Knights couldn't produce the clutch hit they needed in a 2-0 loss to the Indianapolis Indians in game two of their three-games series on Wednesday night at Victory Field.

The Knights began the night with an early threat against Indianapolis starter Dario Agrazal as Paulo Orlando led off the game with a double and advanced to third on a ground out. Daniel Palka then walked to put runners on the corners with nobody out. But Matt Skole struck out and Alcides Escobar grounded out to end the inning.
In the fifth, the Knights again put two runners on base behind singles from Alfredo González and Danny Mendick. But Agrazal escaped the jam by getting a ground out from Palka to strand the runners.
Charlotte starter Dylan Cease matched Agrazal zero for zero to start the game. Through five innings, he gave up just two hits and didn't allow more than one runner to reach base per inning.
But in the sixth, the Indians broke through on Jung Ho Kang's RBI single. A sacrifice fly from Kevin Kramer put the Indians up 2-0, and that was enough to win.
In his longest outing of the season, Cease (L, 4-2) threw 7.0 innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts, but he suffered his second loss of the season.
Carson Fulmer entered in relief of Cease in the eighth and pitched a scoreless inning to keep the deficit at two, but the Indianapolis bullpen was able to hold the lead.
Over the final four innings, the Knights couldn't put a runner on base as the Indians evened the three-game series at one game apiece.
The Knights conclude their season series with the Indians on Thursday night at Victory Field. Pre-game radio coverage of the 7:05 p.m. game is set for 6:50 p.m. on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action.
