Outfielder Brian Goodwin had his contract purchased by the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, June 10. Goodwin, 30, appeared in 24 games with the Knights this season and was hitting .244 (21-for-86) with 12 runs scored, four doubles, three home runs, 11 RBIs and two stolen bases. A native of Rocky Mount, NC, Goodwin was signed by the White Sox on May 4, 2021.

He was originally drafted by the Washington Nationals in the first round (34th overall) of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. He made his major league debut with the Nationals on August 6, 2016. He has compiled a .250 batting average with 42 home runs and 129 RBIs over parts of five seasons in the majors.
