(JACKSONVILLE, FL) -- Shortstop Colson Montgomery launched his first career Triple-A home run, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game four of the six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 7-5 on Friday night from 121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville, FL.

The Knights used the long ball to score all five runs in Friday’s game. Second baseman Danny Mendick started the home run party with a three-run home run in the top of the third inning. Two batters later, catcher Chuckie Robinson launched a solo home run, his second of the season. Thanks to those two homers, the Knights possessed a 4-0 over the Jumbo Shrimp at that point.

Jacksonville also used the long ball and battled back to take a lead over the Knights thanks to four home runs. Jumbo Shrimp third baseman Jonah Bride hit two of his team’s four home runs on the day. All four home runs came off Charlotte RHP Jake Woodford (0-1, 13.94), who started Friday’s game and was saddled with the loss. He allowed six runs on seven hits over five innings.

In the top of the eighth inning, Montgomery connected on his first home run of the season. The 354-foot home run came off former Charlotte reliever Declan Cronin. Montgomery finished the game 2-for-4 on the evening.

The Charlotte bullpen held the ‘Shrimp scoreless over the final three innings.
