DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2026) — The Daytona Tortugas have announced that Matthew Mounsey will serve as the team’s broadcaster and media relations manager for the 2026 season, becoming the new voice of Tortugas baseball at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Mounsey will call all 132 Tortugas games during the 2026 campaign.

“It’s a dream come true to join the Tortugas for my first season in professional baseball,” Mounsey said. “Becoming a baseball broadcaster has been a lifelong goal of mine, and I’m incredibly grateful to the Tortugas organization for trusting me with the opportunity to tell the story of this team and the rich baseball history in Daytona Beach.”

A native of Seattle, Washington, Mounsey brings a diverse background in collegiate and MLB-partner baseball broadcasting to Daytona. He most recently served as a graduate assistant for athletic communications with the University of Texas Longhorns baseball program, working closely with one of the nation’s premier Division I programs.

Mounsey spent the past two seasons as the radio play-by-play voice of TCU Horned Frogs baseball. In addition to his collegiate experience, he has held broadcast and media relations roles across multiple summer leagues.

During the 2025 season, Mounsey served as the director of broadcasting and media relations for the Elizabethton River Riders of the MLB-owned Appalachian League. In that role, he called all games throughout the 48-game season, produced daily interviews, written recaps, social media content, and oversaw the club’s broadcast operations.

He previously held the same position with the New Bern Southpaws of the Old North State League, where he managed the team’s broadcast and media relations efforts during the summer of 2024.

Mounsey is a 2025 graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU), where he earned degrees in Sports Broadcasting and Communication Studies.

The Tortugas will provide video streams for all 66 home games during the 2026 season, with a simulcast available on the traditional free audio stream. Fans can watch the video broadcast through the Bally Sports Live app on compatible mobile devices. Audio-only coverage will also be available for all 66 road games throughout the season.

The Tortugas open the 2026 season at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on April 2 against the Jupiter Hammerheads. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET, with postgame fireworks to follow.
