Greenville, SC - With baseball season right around the corner, the Greenville Drive are excited to announce that tickets for the 2018 College Baseball Series at Fluor Field are now on sale.
The College Baseball Series will once again feature elite programs from across the country in Downtown Greenville. The 2018 spring schedule this spring includes the annual installment of the Reedy River Rivalry presented by ScanSource, highlighting the meeting of Clemson and South Carolina in college baseball's most passionate rivalry, the First Pitch Invitational, and the return of the Southern Conference Tournament to Fluor Field.
"Baseball at Fluor Field is always a welcome sight, and we are very excited about the 2018 College Baseball Series slate in Downtown Greenville," said Eric Jarinko, the Drive's General Manager. "Baseball fans in the Upstate will enjoy watching these programs that are excelling at all levels of college baseball, as well as putting players into professional baseball. With many familiar programs, and two programs new to Fluor Field, on tap, this promises to be another fun year for college baseball at the home of the Drive."
Tickets for all college games not involving Clemson or South Carolina will be $9, and those tickets are general admission. Tickets for games involving Clemson or South Carolina will be sold at regular tiered pricing ranging from $8-$12, but tickets for the Reedy River Rivalry can only be purchased through the ticket offices of Clemson and South Carolina.  Fans can purchase tickets or get more information by calling the Fluor Field box office at (864) 240-4528 or by CLICKING HERE.
The College Baseball Series kicks off on Saturday, March 3rd with the Reedy River Rivalry presented by ScanSource at 3:00 PM. College baseball's premier rivalry promises to be exciting once again, as Clemson opens the season ranked as high as #12, while South Carolina enters its first season under new Head Coach Mark Kingston. This will be the eighth matchup between the two schools at Fluor Field, and South Carolina holds a 4-3 lead in the series, but Clemson is coming off back-to-back victories over the Gamecocks in Greenville.
The previous seven meetings between Clemson and South Carolina in Greenville have produced record-breaking attendance numbers. Last year's matchup, which was the first to feature Fluor Field's $14 million enhancement project, brought 7,460 fans through the gates, which set the highest mark for all games in the 13-year history of Fluor Field.
"Hosting college baseball's premier rivalry remains one of the highlights of the year at Fluor Field," noted Jarinko. "The passion of these fan bases always makes for an electric atmosphere, and last year's record attendance continued that trend. We look forward to having the players and coaches of Clemson and South Carolina on hand as well. Monte Lee has done a fantastic job since taking over at Clemson, and we are excited to introduce Mark Kingston to the rivalry as the new head coach at South Carolina."
The following Wednesday, March 7th, will see a college doubleheader at Fluor Field. At 12:00 PM, the Wofford Terriers will take on the Boston College Eagles, who are making their debut in Downtown Greenville. The special day-night doubleheader concludes with Clemson taking on the Michigan State Spartans at 7:00 PM. The stadium will be emptied in between games, but fans who purchase a ticket for this day will receive access to both games.
The First Pitch Invitational will return to Fluor Field on Friday, March 9th with three teams on hand. The Furman Paladins, representing Greenville, will take on Michigan State with a 6:00 PM first pitch.
The action continues with a pair of games on Saturday, both featuring the Illinois Fighting Illini, another newcomer to Fluor Field. Illinois will square off with Furman at 1:00 PM, and they will take on Michigan State 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
The First Pitch Invitational wraps up with a Sunday morning game, as Illinois and Michigan State will meet again at 11:00 AM.
On Wednesday, March 21st, the North Greenville Crusaders will play their first of two games at Fluor Field in 2018, as they face off against the USC Aiken Pacers at 6:00 PM.

Tuesday, April 24th will see another special doubleheader at Fluor Field. Following the Drive's annual Drive Business Downtown game at 2:05 PM, Furman and South Carolina will meet at 7:00 PM.
The college baseball season at Fluor Field concludes with the Southern Conference Tournament, which runs from Tuesday, May 22nd through Sunday, May 27th. The 2017 edition of the SoCon Tournament was won by the UNCG Spartans, who eliminated Furman on Championship Sunday.
