Carapellotti, Lasaracina Go Deep Twice in Doubleheader Split

Clearwater, FL – Owen Carapellotti and Giaconino Lasaracina each had multi-homer games as the Dunedin Blue Jays and Clearwater Threshers split Wednesday’s doubleheader at BayCare Ballpark. Despite a pair of homers from Owen Carapellotti helping Dunedin retake the lead in the 5th inning, the Blue Jays dropped game one 7-5.

Clearwater, FL – Owen Carapellotti and Giaconino Lasaracina each had multi-homer games as the Dunedin Blue Jays and Clearwater Threshers split Wednesday’s doubleheader at BayCare Ballpark.

Despite a pair of homers from Owen Carapellotti helping Dunedin retake the lead in the 5th inning, the Blue Jays dropped game one 7-5.

Dunedin bounced back in the nightcap behind a two-homer game from Giaconino Lasaracina and a go-ahead two-run homer from Raimundo De Los Santos, winning game two 4-2.

Dunedin has now homered in nine straight games, with 17 home runs over that span. They have homered multiple times in four straight games and in four of their last six games, a Blue Jay has hit multiple home runs.

KEY PERFORMERS

  • RHP Reese Bassinger (2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 2 K) fired two hitless innings in relief in game two to earn his first professional save.
    • Bassinger has allowed just one run on four hits over eight innings to begin his professional career.
  • C Owen Carapellotti (2-for-3, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 2 R) launched a pair of homers in game one and now has five home runs, including two multi-homer performances, over his last four games.
    • Carapellotti smashed a game-tying solo homer in the 2nd inning at 103.6 MPH off the bat that traveled 410 ft., then unloaded on a 109.2 MPH two-run homer in the 6th.

  • SS/CF Ramindo De Los Santos (2-for-6, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R) notched a hit in each game, including a go-ahead two-run homer in the 2nd inning in game two, his fourth of the season.
