Indianapolis, IN --- A bases loaded walk drawn by Pablo Reyes lifted Indianapolis past Durham 7-6 in 10 innings before 14,598 fans at Victory Field on Saturday night.
The Indians' 10th inning began with Kevin Kramer beating a throw to third base from reliever Mike Franco (L, 1-1). After a walk filled the bases, Franco struck out Wyatt Mathisen before Reyes walked on four pitches to win it for Indianapolis (40-32).
Durham (40-32) had a 6-5 lead into the last of the ninth when Jung Ho Kang singled under the glove of shortstop Andrew Velazquez to tie the game with two outs. The Indians nearly won the game in regulation when Kramer singled to right, but Justin Williams threw out Kang at the plate to send the game to the 10th.
Brandon Lowe homered twice and drove in five to pave the Durham offense. Lowe has homered four times in his last three games, and set a career-high with 12 home runs, with eight coming at Double-A Montgomery. Lowe hit a two-run shot to right in the second inning, then drilled a three-run homer in the fourth to put the Bulls ahead 5-3.
Ryan Lavarnway connected for a three-run shot against Chih-Wei Hu in the bottom of the second to stake Indianapolis to a 3-2 lead.
After the Indians tied the game 5-5, Lowe doubled in the sixth and scored on an opposite-field double by Jeremy Hazelbaker.
Ian Gibaut blew his first save chance of the year in six tries, permitting one run, two hits and three walks over 1 2/3 innings.
Lowe finished with three extra base hits, and a career-tying two homes and five RBI.
Durham had been 37-0 when leading after eight innings this season.
Chih-Wei Hu allowed five runs over his four innings as Durham's long reliever behind Jaime Schultz, who opened the game with one perfect inning.
The Bulls carry a 2 1/2 game South Division lead into Sunday's road trip finale at 1:35 PM ET with Ryan Weber expected to oppose Clay Holmes.
