Bulls fans this past Saturday got to witness history at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, as pitchers Joe Boyle, Cole Sulser, and Jacob Waguespack combined to throw the seventh no-hitter in Durham's franchise history in the Triple-A era, which dates back to 1998.

Prior to April 19, 2025, the last time the Bulls threw a no-hitter was on August 8, 2019, when Arturo Reyes, Ricardo Pinto, Jose Alvarado, and Hoby Milner combined for a nine-inning no-no in a 2-1 victory over the Syracuse Mets at the DBAP. Incredibly, just 33 days prior to that game, Bulls hurlers Jake Cronenworth, Luis Santos, and Cole Sulser (yes, really), combined for a seven-inning no-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader on July 5, 2019 at Gwinnett. After waiting 33 days between no-hitters in 2019, it took the Bulls 2,081 days and 623 regular season games to throw another no-no this past Saturday night.

As detailed in this story by MLB.com, Sulser is part of an exclusive list to have pitched in two no-hitters for the same club. Only one pitcher at the Major League level has accomplished that feat, with Ryan Pressley doing so 130 days apart in 2022 with the Houston Astros, with the second one coming in Game 4 of that year's World Series.
